This mini-workshop will focus on ways that states and their partners can more effectively reach underserved communities, as energy technologies, markets, financing, and incentives evolve.  Results of the session will be used to guide NASEO’s work with states on equity issues and the creation of a task force to encourage peer-to-peer assistance. Ensuring Energy Codes Support State Energy Policy Goals: Seizing the Moment (Open to all registered NASEO State, Territory, and Affiliate Members)

This session will provide states with an overview of the importance of and process for participating in the energy code development process which is taking place this year. The code development process relies on participation from state and local government officials with responsibility for energy codes in their jurisdiction. NASEO is working to support increased participation by State Energy Offices and local jurisdictions to ensure that the next version of the energy code contributes to states’ energy and climate policy goals. The session will begin with presentations and move to a facilitated discussion.

NASEO-NARUC Grid-Interactive Efficient Buildings Working Group: Goals and Engagement (Open to registered NASEO State, Territory, and Affiliate Members)

This working session will discuss the newly formed NASEO-NARUC Grid-Interactive Efficient Buildings Working Group’s goals and options for state and private sector engagement.  NASEO and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) are working with the U.S. Department of Energy to advance analysis, options, and pilots that address the role of buildings in delivering energy efficiency, demand reduction, and electricity supplies in ways that help to optimize grid performance and reliability.

The NASEO Transportation Committee will meet to discuss the latest State Energy Office actions in support of transportation efficiency, electric vehicles, and other alternative transportation fuels. Topics of discussion will include: vehicle-to-grid integration and storage applications; regional and multi-state electric vehicle coordination; Volkswagen Settlement updates; and state updates on transportation programs, policies, and initiatives.

NASEO’s Board of Directors Meeting will cover programmatic and administrative updates of the organization, as well as information on federal policy positions, Congressional and Administration actions, budget, and appropriations.  All NASEO State, Territory, and Affiliate Members are encouraged to attend.

NASEO Regional Meetings – Working Dinners for Each Region(NASEO State, Territory, and Affiliate Members–advance reservation with NASEO required. Meetings are located offsite. See NASEO staff for details.)

The NASEO regional meetings provide an opportunity for states to meet with their colleagues to discuss programs and policies and share lessons learned. NASEO will host working dinners for each region for NASEO State and Territory Members at nearby venues.
